This is our flagship package — a full week of intermediate-level surfing built around the rhythms of Sri Lanka itself. What makes it different from our other packages isn’t just the duration, but the structure of the days: morning sessions begin at sunrise when the ocean is at its best, leaving the heat of the day free to relax and recharge at Surf’n’Lanka before heading back into the water in the late afternoon. Each evening ends with the sunset over the sea.
Day one sets the tone. An early morning recap of board handling and safety is followed immediately by time in the water, where your instructor assesses your technique and begins tailoring the week to where you are and where you want to get to. After breakfast there’s time to relax before an afternoon session focused on refining what came up in the morning.
Day two turns attention to reading waves and understanding different board types — skills that change how you see the ocean. The afternoon focuses on paddling efficiency and wave catching, building the stamina and timing that intermediate surfing demands.
Day three is about movement on the wave. The morning broadens your wave-reading ability and introduces advanced techniques suited to your style, while the afternoon is dedicated to turning — learning to do it well and then taking it straight into the water to practice.
Day four is your day off — and it’s a proper one. A day trip takes you into the surrounding area to explore some of what Sri Lanka has to offer beyond the beach: crocodile and aquatic bird watching, a turtle hatchery, tea plantations, a snake farm, temples, and more. Transport is taken care of.
Days five and six return to the water with renewed energy. Both days follow the same sunrise-to-sunset rhythm, focusing on board awareness, balance, and efficient paddling — consolidating and deepening the skills from the first half of the week with more time in the water and more independent surfing.
Day seven brings the week to a fitting close. The morning session continues the focus on balance and technique, and the afternoon shifts into something more playful — an introduction to tricks on the waves, followed by free surfing just for the joy of it. The day, and the week, ends with a BBQ on the beach as the sun goes down.
Pacing throughout the week is always guided by your progress. The goal is to send you home surfing better than you thought you would — and already thinking about when you can come back.
